How to Make a Spreadsheet for Bills In Google Sheets
We’ve put together a step-by-step guide to help you build your own custom template. You can also download our sample template if you’d like. Let’s dive into each step in more detail.
Step 1. Start by clicking on an empty cell and typing in your details. Next, head to the toolbar to style your text. You can change the font, size, color, and other formatting options to suit your needs.
Step 2. Select the cells you want to color, navigate to the Fill color option, and pick your desired shade.
Step 3. Highlight the cells where you want borders, click on the Borders icon, and then select the style, color, and type of border you prefer.
Step 4. To track the status of your bills, you’ll want to add a dropdown list. Click on an empty cell, go to the Insert menu, select Dropdown, and then configure the list with your desired values and colors. Once you’re done, click “Done.”
Step 5. To easily mark off paid bills, you’ll need to add checkboxes. To do this, click on the cell where you want the checkbox, go to the Insert tab, and select the Checkbox option.
Step 6. To sum up your bills, you’ll need to add some formulas. Select the cell where you’d like the total to appear and input the following formulas:
- =SUMIF(H3:H24, true, G3:G24) for Paid Bills;
- =SUMIF(H3:H24, false, G3:G24) for Unpaid Bills;
