This Skills Inventory Template provides a centralized way to document and track professional competencies.
The template is flexible and can be tailored by adding or removing columns, making it suitable for individual career management, assessing team skill sets, and planning future training.

How to Use Our Skills Inventory Spreadsheet Template
1. The template is available for use through copying the Google Sheets original, downloading it in Excel format, or obtaining it as a PDF document.
2. Complete the columns by documenting all competency information for each team member:
- Skill Name: Enter the specific ability, expertise, or technical competency being tracked (e.g., “Python Programming,” “Project Management,” “Welding”).
- Category: Specify the classification grouping for the skill (Technical Skills, Soft Skills, Management, Language Skills, IT Skills, etc.).
- Proficiency Level: Indicate the employee’s current mastery level (Beginner, Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, or Expert).
- Experience: Record the duration of practical application with this skill (months or years of hands-on experience).
- Certification: Document any formal credentials, licenses, or certifications associated with this skill (include certification name and date if applicable).
- Training Needed: Identify any additional development required to enhance or maintain this competency (workshops, courses, recertification, etc.).
- Importance: Rate the criticality of this skill to the employee’s role or organizational objectives (critical, high, medium, or low importance).

3. Insert additional relevant information into the Notes column where needed.
